Virgin Nigeria said it is changing its name to Nigerian Eagle Airlines, further severing ties with its founder, Virgin Atlantic, and is in talks with international investors to raise about million fresh capital. The airline, which last month signed a technical partnership agreement with Ethiopian Airlines, is also planning a private placement within the next six weeks, Dapo Olumide, its managing director, told journalists in Lagos. British billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic had said it is looking to sell its 49 percent stake in the airline, for which it paid around million in 2005. ABNs mandlakazi Mpahlwa-Sigcawu spoke to Dapo Olumide.
@huvander hahahahaha please please abeg dont make me laugh again…
Arik Air which is privately owned has progressed while nigerian eagle is still on square one struggling from a curropt government. A big shame for the nigerian government.
If something in Nigeria is not privately owned then it always collapses go figure. Dis naija man wey dey try to speak like oyibo, when dey chop all im money dey go leave am half naked…
This man is a monotone robot!!!
I love this move, Full time. Maybe now Virgin Nigeria will start employing black Expats, the Whites HR guys that were at Virgin Nigeria before only took white Expats, now i hope Qualified black pilots like myself will have a Shot. Nigerian Pilot’s Can’t work in the EU so why should EU pilots work in Nigeria. Or on the African continent
if u heard the guy, he said its a gradual process. whydontyou support him first rather than look for something bad to talk about. give nigerians a chance and stop being nevgative. the white guys there before put them where they are today. be positive!
To this day, the website points to the Virgin Nigeria brand with nothing but a press release stating they changed their name to “Nigerian Eagle”. What’s the use to rebrand if all you have is the old website with a press release mentioning their new name? It’s been weeks and your customers are confused!!!! Can’t cost that much to get a new website done, unless you’re preparing something magical.
